A section of a major downtown thoroughfare is closed due to concerns about a possible falling danger from a nearby structure.

Due to an antenna hanging from the top of a 24-story residential structure, Adelaide Street East in Toronto will be shut down between Yonge to Victoria Street as a safety measure.

It’s anticipated that roof repairs would last through Sunday, January 29.

A municipal representative issued a news release saying, “The city asks everyone to take care in the area, prepare alternate routes, and consider utilising public transit.”

On Thursday, a Toronto police spokeswoman tweeted about the risk, warning drivers to expect delays.
